The Prapaisilp family, known for their St. Louis culinary ventures like Global Foods Market and The King & I Restaurant, is expanding with a new Thai restaurant concept called Chao Baan. Located in the CHROMA development at 4089 Chouteau Ave. in The Grove, Chao Baan will focus on rustic dishes from the northeastern and southern regions of Thailand. The menu will feature dishes like miang kham and kaeng som, along with a full bar offering wine, beer, and cocktails. The goal is to introduce St. Louis to the diverse regional flavors of Thailand beyond the familiar curries and pad Thai, emphasizing home-cooked and shared family dishes.
