Clayton-based developer Green Street is set to begin construction on a $40 million workforce housing development called Union At The Grove in The Grove neighborhood of St. Louis. The project, comprising six multifamily buildings, had been delayed due to the pandemic but is now expected to take 12-18 months to complete. At least 80 of the 160 planned units will offer “attainable rents,” meaning they are below market average but above the threshold for low-income housing. Green Street is financing the project with the help of Colliers International and $2.5 million from IFF, a nonprofit financial institution.
