After more than two years of hard work, Rockwell Beer Co. is set to open its doors at 1320 Vandeventer Ave. on Thursday, November 29th. Founder Andy Hille and his team have painstakingly transformed a former machine shop into a brewery and a welcoming 90-seat tasting room. The brewery is equipped with a 15-barrel system and three Missouri oak foeders for aging projects. Head brewer Jonathan Moxey, formerly of Perennial Artisan Ales, is putting the finishing touches on Rockwell’s initial beer offerings. These include Simple Needs, a hoppy blonde ale, Byrd Up!, a dry-hopped rye pale ale, and Velour Tracksuit, a hybrid IPA. In the meantime, they’re offering guest taps from other renowned breweries, cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic options. They’ve also partnered with Gerard Craft to create a delectable food menu inspired by the Central West End’s Cinq à Sept happy hour. Rockwell’s opening hours will be from noon to 10 p.m. on Thursdays, noon to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays, promising to be a welcome addition to the St. Louis brewery scene.
