After purchasing the land long used by the railroad industry, Green Street looked to reinvent the area as a hub for transportation. With quick access to major highways, railways, and even barge shipping lanes, the underutilized location was primed for expansion.
What was once a scrap yard now serves as a multi-use location for Central States Thermo King (CSTK) – leaders in refrigeration, heating and air conditioning for the transportation industry. With multiple locations around St. Louis for service and storage, we were able to consolidate efforts into a larger, multi-use facility. In addition to having enough space for CSTK’s 16 industrial service bays and a drop lot with enough parking for more than 150 trailers, we worked together to create a flagship building that works for sales teams and employee training.
One of the ways we work to build long-term success is cluster development, where we invest in an entire area, rather than a single location. In addition to working on future transportation industry projects in North Riverfront, we’ve pioneered true transformation of the area surrounding CSTK. Through outreach efforts and working with the city, Carrie Avenue is now home to wider roads to accommodate more tractor-trailers and St. Louis’ first Love’s Travel Stop.
