Part of an 18-acre master plan, the first phase at 4565 McRee, is the redevelopment of a former industrial building constructed in the mid-20th century into a mixed-use office/retail space that created nearly 200 jobs and 150 construction jobs. Green Street acquired the combined sites near the intersection of Vandeventer and McRee Avenues in 2018 because of proximity to their current projects in The Grove neighborhood and location near MOBOT as well as the Tower Grove and Botanical Heights communities.

A need for increased office space due to the continued growth of Green Street Real Estate Ventures, and Green Streets’ acquisition of HDA and O’Toole Design, initiated the plans for a new HQ adjacent to Bar K. The project was developed by Green Street Real Estate Ventures with capital consulting through Emerald Capital.  The building’s unique architecture and design was reimagined with the creativity of HDA and O’Toole Design.

Adjacent is Bar K’s first St. Louis location to include extensive indoor and outdoor (2 acres) areas for supervised dog play adjacent to bar, restaurant, and event space. In addition, Bar K created a dog adoption and pet education facility in partnership with St. Louis-based Purina-owned pet-adoption site Petfinder.com, as well as Stay@Bar K, a 6,700 SF daycare and grooming facility in collaboration with St. Louis-based Kennelwood.
