James Heffner
Chief Counsel
James joins Green Street as Chief Counsel. James spent more than 15 years with a St. Louis law firm specializing in real estate and finance. He served on the firm’s executive committee and as chair of the banking & finance practice group. Immediately prior to joining Green Street, James worked with Stifel Financial Corp. (SF) as deputy general counsel.
During his time in private practice and as in-house counsel, James counseled developers, lenders, operators, and investors in all aspects of real estate and finance. His experience includes structuring and closing various projects utilizing public financing, including use of New Market Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, Tax Increment Financing, and Tax Abatement.
