Across the 54-acre site, we began with adaptive reuse of the existing buildings, rehabilitating and redeveloping them to meet modern demands. With a history in building passenger railroad cars, the building was primed for updates to improve capabilities throughout heavy-duty crane systems, cross-dock loading and rail access. By retaining the building’s high-strength floor, we were even capable of meeting the needs of Alro Steel fabricators, and their tons of raw and process metal.
After reusing the existing spaces, we completed additional tilt-up structures that maximize the available space. Areas that once housed materials and finished railcars now serve the high demands of multimodal transport tenants for parking and storage for containers. Today, St. Louis Business Park now houses 12 businesses, employing more than 600 people.
